Google's top ten for 2004

What do Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, and Pamela Anderson have in common? Well they were the top 4 search queries on Google this year.

Google has published its top searches for each of the last four years and 2004 marks Ms. Spears' second straight year in the top spot - though I cannot understand why.

The top search of the year in Canada was for the Anime series InuYasha, followed by "Family Guy," "Avril Lavigne," "Air Canada," and "Canadian Tire."

Yahoo! has also joined the year end recap fray with its own year in review, based on its search results. Its presentation includes context that is missing form Google's list and is a really fascinating guide to the year that was (according to Yahoo! users).
