I AM... no longer Canadian
Molson Inc. and Adolph Coors Co. have officially announced their merger.
While they are calling it a merger it appears to be nothing of the sort. Senior management positions are going to Coors execs while Molson's management team will be relegated to the Board of Directors and given responsibilities for "synergies" (i.e.: finding ways to put themselves out of a job).
This may not be done deal though. The Wall Street Journal is reporting this morning that Ian Molson (cousin of Molson Board Chair, Eric Molson) is trying to drum up the cash to buy Molson Inc. and scuttle the merger and people are already talking about boycotting Molson and Coors.
