A bad week for the Pooh crew
I hasn't been all honey and carrots for the gang from the Hundred Acre Woods. First, it was the shocking allegations that Tigger has been groping women at the Disney theme park in Florida. Now we hear that Disney is cancelling the Winnie the Pooh festival in Pooh's home town of Winnipeg.
Disney says that the reasaons are purely financial. The "vast majority" of its Canadian marketing budget goes to the event. Disney coughs up about half of the annual cost of $400,000 event. So, what Disney is saying is the $200,000 (Canadian Dollars, at that) is the "vast majority" of its marketing budget for Canada!
Do you find that as hard to beleive as I do? Try harder, Disney. Either get a new excuse, or sponsor the festival. After all, were it not for Winnipeg, you wouldn't even have Pooh.
Oh, and if you are suprised Tigger is at the centre of these terrible allegations, don't be. This line from his song says it all: "bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
