Parrish does it again
The MP who gained notoriety for saying she hates "those (American) bastards" is now calling our friends in the United States "idiots." Carolyn Parrish spoke today at a demonstration protesting the American plan to deploy a missile defence shield and told the ten people who showed up at the demo that Canada should not join the "coalition of idiots" support the American scheme.
Mrs. Parrish, who initially denied making the "bastards" remark didn't learn her lesson from that experience and, again this time, denied calling Americans idiots. When she realized she may have said it, she had the gall to ask reporters not to report on the comment.
Prime Minister Paul Martin didn't directly condemn Mrs. Parrish for her remarks, but did say views on the controversial plan should be "expressed in language that's acceptable."
Today's comments and Mr. Martin's unwillingness to call Mrs. Parrish to account are a timely reminder of the rabid anti-Americanism at the heart of Canada's Liberal government. Is it any wonder we still can't export beef to the United States?
The only "coalition of idiots" I see is formally known as the Liberal Party.
