Did nothing happen yesterday?

Judging by the front page of the National Post this morning, I am led to believe that nothing newsworthy happened yesterday.

Their front page features a quarter-page photo of Conservative leader Stephen Harper, a (very interesting) column from Andrew Coyne, their tongue-in-cheek column "Post Mortem" and a box highlighting what election coverage I can find inside.

A flip through the paper's A Section showed a number of news items that might have been worthy of consideration for promotion to the front page including the dueling controversies of Randy Whites comments on same-sex unions and the defection of a Liberal riding association executive in Hamilton to the NDP. But they didn't make the cut apparently.

Call me crazy, but I'd like to see more news on my front page.
