I think the PM is confused
As Paul Martin campaigned yesterday he kept mentioning the Mike Harris.
What the PM has apparently forgotten is that he is not running against Mike Harris. While Mr. Harris, the former Ontario Premier, thought about making a run for leader of the Conservative Party, he took a pass.
I have to wonder how effective the branding Harper as a Harris clone is going to be for the Liberals. It seems to me that it plays right into the Tories' hands. Integrity is a theme Harper brought up repeatedly yesterday. While people may have had problems with Harris' policies, one thing they acknowledge is that he did what he promised.
Breaking election promises has emerged as issue in Ontario, where the Liberals need all the support they can get if they want to hold on to power.
