New poll may be giving Liberals heartburn | Home | Tech on the Trail

An election about issues?
With an election call just hours away, it's gut-check time for political hopefuls across Canada. Pollsters, desperately trying to find a word (other than the now overused "volatile") to describe the mood of the electorate, have started using "dynamic" and "fickle."
What's clear is that there is no issue that yet defines the election. Even health care, "Canadians' number one priority" according to any politician in front of a microphone, only rates that monicker with 30% of voters according to today's Ipsos-Reid poll.
So, it looks like a clear field for the parties to stake out their ground and to define the issues.
Could it be, that we could finally have an election focussed on good policy and good government? We can only hope.
