Eye on the ball
Conservative MPs in Ottawa have been positively giddy this week. They were told, at this week's caucus meeting, that internal party polls put them in a statistical dead heat with the Paul Martin Liberals outside of Quebec. MPs could barely conceal their glee. Some were hinting that the Tories might hold the Grits to a minority government in the upcoming election. Others were suggesting that they might even form a government.
Keep your eye on the ball, guys. Take nothing for granted. Canadians need you to present a credible alternative to the Liberal government, not merely a place to park their vote between elections.
